Before JIGMOD sold as a Shopify store titled “JIGMOD Electronic Circuit Building System,” it went through a long quiet build and then a public crowdfunding launch. The original About page summarized that history in a few clear facts that still define the company’s origin story.
From stealth hardware to Kickstarter
JIGMOD began developing hardware in September 2013. The company operated in stealth mode until approximately September 2015, when it launched its Kickstarter campaign.
That campaign raised $10,842, which was 197% of the asked goal of $5,500. On October 13, 2015, JIGMOD reached its goal on Kickstarter. Those figures—goal, total raised, and the date the goal was met—come directly from the archived About page under “JIGMOD History” and “Our Crowdfunding Story.”
Where the company was based
Contact information on the archived site listed JIGMOD Company in Port Elgin, ON N0H 2C1, Canada. Sales were directed to sales@jigmod.com; support and other inquiries to support@jigmod.com; and the phone line was 1-800-450-2032 (with a note to leave a message).
What the early public site looked like
The archived News blog had almost no content of its own. The only post recovered was “First Post,” dated December 6, 2014, by Ryan Clark. It welcomed visitors to an “under construction” website and pointed them to the Kickstarter campaign for updates. In other words, crowdfunding—not a long blog—was the public update channel during the launch window.
Homepage captures from 2015 onward already showed the product system organized under Platforms, JIGMODs, and Adapters (Accessories appeared as a homepage tile in later captures). The store copy stayed remarkably stable from 2016 through late 2020.
Thanks to early supporters
The About page’s crowdfunding section thanked backers by name and highlighted supporters connected with EEVBlog.com, Hackaday.com, and MKME.org among a long list of individual backers. The page framed that list as a public thank-you once the funding goal had been reached.
Taken together, the archive gives a compact launch timeline: hardware development from September 2013, stealth until about September 2015, Kickstarter goal met on October 13, 2015, and a final raise of $10,842 against a $5,500 goal (197%).
